Dr. Paramita Das
I am Paramita Das, working as Assistant Professor at SRM University Andhra Pradesh. I have obtained my PhD from CSE, IIT Kharagpur, India with
Prof. Animesh Mukherjee. Prior to this, I served as Research Associate at IIT Kharagpur. I completed my masters in
Computer Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur with the supervision of Dr. Abhik Mukherjee.
I work at the intersection of Computational Social Science and AI, focusing on how open-source platforms can be designed to be more fair, inclusive, and trustworthy.
My research examines content moderation and governance in peer-production communities such as Wikipedia and Wikidata, along with multi-modal analysis of social media data.
A few of my works are in Responsible AI, particularly I am interested in identifying and mitigating social biases in large-scale models, with a focus on Vision–Language Models (VLMs).
